Paradiski
The Paradiski ski area lying within the Tarentaise valley contains some of the most stunning scenery and skiing within France and is the 2nd largest linked ski area in the world. Every ability can find resorts to suit, from Champagny and La Plagne over to Les Arcs, with the Vanoise Express gondola linking the two areas. The domain boasts 131 lifts and 425 km of pistes, 4 snow parks and 2 half pipes, and with over 70% of the area above 2000m, plenty of snow is virtually guaranteed throughout the season. You can ski from village level all the way up to 2550 metres.
The ski area suits all abilities with a large number of ski schools dotted around within easy reach of the slopes. It is made up of two main ski areas – Les Arcs and La Plagne linked by the Vanoise Express. You can get ski passes for each separately or for the whole of Paradiski, or indeed, even smaller parts of these huge areas, as it will take an experienced skier to ski the width of Les Arcs and back in a day – assuming a suitable stop for lunch!! We have properties available in all of the three resorts within Paradiski. Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne.
La Plagne Ski Area
The wide and gentle slopes up above La Plagne are perfect for families and intermediates, with the gondola up from Champagny linking to some of the sunniest slopes in the area. Many of the pistes are through gorgeous wooded scenery and you can choose to return to Champagny using either the gondola or negotiate a very pretty but technical red. There are also two fantastic snow parks, catering for all abilities with jumps graded in the same way as the pistes, as well as rails and boxes, a wall ride, a half-pipe and a picnic area. If you fancy a change then La Plagne also offers ten pin bowling, electronic golf, an ice rink and luxurious outdoor heated pool.
Les Arcs Ski Area
This is composed of four separate, purpose built resorts, each with its own character. The slopes surrounding the villages offer a great variety of pistes and a number of exhilarating and challenging runs for experts. In particular the woodland runs are famous and simply not to be missed. For experts there are an incredible 18 black runs. In particular the tricky runs off the Aiguille Rouge glacier are simply bonkers with a breathtaking 7 km run over a 2,100m vertical drop. There are also terrific off-piste options, including secluded and beautiful slopes towards Villaroger. If that all sounds a little too much then intermediates and beginners still have a huge choice of pistes within the 200km available.
